During the cooler months we often find Sea Trout schooled up back in the creeks. The most common way to catch these fish is with jig heads and grubs fished slowly along the bottom. Usually when you find one, you can find a few more hanging out in the same area. My goal was to figure out how to catch these trout, which are usually smaller, on a light weight fly rod. In this video, I start out with a jig and grub to find the first fish. From there, I switch over to my 3 weight fly rod with a heavy streamer (SEM Sculpin tied on a size 6 hook) and use a real slow retrieve to get the fly down. It turns out to be a pretty effective pattern on the trout. I landed a few more than were in the video but my memory card filled up.
