This episode provides tips and techniques on how to catch Sand Whiting. The bait of choice was live worms. The gear we chose to use was light spin gear. Reel size up to 2500 is fine with 4-6lb braided or mono main line. Rod size can be anywhere between 6-8 foot in length, make sure your rod has a sensitive tip as whting can be very subtle when taking bait. The rig of choice was the running sinker rig. Bean or ball sinker placed above the swivel with around 50cm of 4lb flurocarbon or monofilament line used as leader. Hook size when fishing for whiting is quite small. Long shanked hooks size 4-8 tend to be the most successful. Very slow retreive of the bait assists with the natural presentation.Available to watch in HD.
